Actor seeks Lord Ganesha’s blessings after winning Best Actor honour for Chandu Champion at the 72nd National Film Awards
Mumbai, September 23 (SDNA): Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan marked a memorable moment in his career by visiting Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja soon after receiving the Best Actor honour at the 72nd National Film Awards for his performance in Chandu Champion. The actor offered prayers at the famous Ganesh shrine and placed his National Award at the feet of Lord Ganesha.
A video of Kartik’s visit has surfaced on social media. Accompanied by security personnel, the actor was seen arriving at the pandal in traditional attire. He performed the customary prayers and sought blessings from Lord Ganesha before offering his prestigious award at the shrine.
A Special Moment for Kartik and His Family
Following the darshan, Kartik spoke briefly about the achievement and the celebrations at home. He described the visit to Bappa as an emotional and significant moment, particularly because it came soon after one of the biggest recognitions of his acting career.
The actor also expressed happiness over his family’s reaction to the honour and joined devotees in raising the traditional chant, “Ganpati Bappa Morya.”
National Award for Chandu Champion
Kartik Aaryan received the Best Actor award at the 72nd National Film Awards for his performance in Chandu Champion. The honour was shared with Malayalam cinema veteran Mammootty, who was recognised for his performance in Bramayugam.

According to reports, Kartik trained for around 14 months and underwent a substantial physical transformation, including losing nearly 15 kilograms, to authentically portray Petkar at different stages of his life.
The film depicts Petkar’s struggles, determination and perseverance in overcoming difficult circumstances. Kartik’s preparation and physical transformation for the role also attracted considerable attention.
