Initiative to focus on health-insurance awareness, assistance for needy patients and district-level support networks
Indore/Siliguri, September 23 (SDNA): The NIVRAHA FOUNDATION has announced plans to launch a nationwide ‘Arogya Bharat Abhiyan’ aimed at promoting health awareness and developing community-based support mechanisms for patients requiring financial assistance.
Alongside the campaign, the foundation plans to undertake a free membership drive to expand public participation and strengthen its social network across cities and districts.
The proposals were discussed during an online meeting of the foundation’s national executive committee chaired by National President Dr. Vinayak Ashok Luniya Jain. The meeting focused on health security, community assistance, local support systems and organisational expansion.
Focus on Health Insurance Awareness
According to Dr. Luniya, the campaign will seek to educate citizens about the importance and practical use of health insurance and mediclaim policies. The foundation also plans to explore affordable health-insurance options for its members.
The initiative proposes a mechanism through which financial assistance could be mobilised for needy patients facing serious illnesses or unexpected medical expenses. Crowdfunding has been proposed as one of the possible channels for raising such assistance.
The foundation said transparency would be given priority while developing a system for transferring approved assistance to eligible patients.
Proposal for Local Health Assistance Funds
The campaign is proposed to be expanded to different cities and districts through social and cultural programmes. Contributions generated through these programmes could be placed in proposed city- and district-level health assistance funds.
According to the organisation, such funds could be utilised for emergency medical assistance and support for needy patients, subject to the applicable process and guidelines.
The objective is to create a local support network that can respond to medical emergencies through community participation.
Cultural Programmes to Encourage Public Participation
As part of the campaign, cultural and entertainment programmes are proposed to be organised in different cities. The foundation plans to seek support in conducting these programmes under the leadership of Taal Ratna, Taal Samrat and internationally recognised tabla player Aditya Narayan Banerjee.
Through these events, the organisation intends to combine health-awareness activities with efforts to encourage financially capable members of society to contribute towards assistance for needy patients.
District-Level Committees Proposed
The foundation also plans to establish dedicated committees in districts for coordinating the campaign locally.
These committees are expected to engage with entrepreneurs, businesspersons, social workers and other members of the community to mobilise support for proposed health assistance funds. Responsibilities of city- and district-level volunteers will also be defined to facilitate coordinated implementation of the initiative.
The organisation further plans to associate prominent members of society with the campaign and its activities.
Free Membership Drive
A major component of the proposed expansion strategy is the free membership campaign of NIVRAHA FOUNDATION. The organisation plans to reach out to journalists, social workers, youth, women, businesspersons and people associated with various social initiatives.
The membership programme is intended to strengthen local social units and encourage greater citizen participation in health and other public-welfare activities.
Building a Community-Based Health Support Network
Dr. Luniya said the ‘Arogya Bharat Abhiyan’ is proposed to cover multiple aspects of community health support, including health-insurance awareness, assistance for patients facing financial difficulties and development of local support mechanisms.
The foundation’s proposed roadmap includes expanding the campaign across cities and districts in different states, forming local committees and accelerating the free membership programme.
Through these initiatives, NIVRAHA FOUNDATION aims to build a broader network of citizens and volunteers who can participate in social welfare activities and contribute to community-based support for people facing medical and other difficulties.
