Senior officials present at the meeting included Indore Development Authority CEO Dr. Parikshit Jhade, District Panchayat CEO Himanshu Prajapati, Additional Collector Navjeevan Vijay Pawar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Akash Singh and Additional Collector Rinkesh Vaishya, along with officers from various departments.
Road Repairs to Gather Pace After Rains
With the monsoon period nearing its end, the Collector directed the concerned departments and urban local bodies to accelerate the repair of damaged roads and potholes.
He called for priority-based execution of repair works and instructed officials to maintain strict quality control so that repaired roads meet the required standards and do not quickly deteriorate.
Regular Inspection of Hostels
The administration also reviewed arrangements at student hostels operating in the district.
Officials were instructed to regularly inspect food quality, cleanliness, drinking water, safety arrangements and other facilities available to students. Any shortcomings identified during inspections should be addressed promptly, the Collector directed.
Basements Must Remain Available for Parking
The meeting also reviewed the use of basement areas in buildings. Collector Verma directed officials to ensure that basements designated for parking are used for their approved purpose.
If unauthorised commercial or other activities are found operating in designated parking areas, action should be taken in accordance with applicable rules, officials were instructed.
Monitoring of DJ Restrictions
Officials were also asked to ensure compliance with restrictions applicable to DJ and amplified sound systems.
All SDMs and tehsildars were directed to monitor their respective areas and take action according to the rules in cases of violations. Effective implementation of measures related to controlling noise pollution was also emphasised.
Drive Against Illegal Hoardings
The Collector instructed officials to continue action against illegal hoardings and unauthorised advertising displays across the city and district.
Particular attention was directed towards major roads, public places and prominent routes, where unauthorised hoardings are to be identified and removed. Violations should be dealt with under the applicable regulations.
Priority Matters Must Meet Deadlines
Concluding the meeting, Collector Verma told officials that matters listed under the TL mechanism should not be treated as a routine administrative exercise. Each case should be pursued seriously until a meaningful resolution is achieved.
He emphasised that timely implementation of government-priority programmes directly affects the delivery of public services. Officials were therefore directed to discharge their responsibilities with accountability, efficiency and a clear focus on citizen service.
