Soybean Farmer Registration Opens October 3 Under Price Deficit Payment Scheme

The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that registration of farmers for soybean procurement for Kharif 2026 will be conducted from October 3 to October 17, 2026 under the Government of India’s Price Deficit Payment Scheme, popularly referred to as the Bhavantar scheme.

Farmers will be able to register through the state’s e-Uparjan portal according to the prescribed procedure. Registration facilities have been established at designated centres across districts.

Free and Paid Registration Facilities

Free registration facilities will be available at facilitation centres established at gram panchayats, janpad panchayats and tehsil offices, as well as at registration centres operated by cooperative societies and cooperative marketing institutions.

Farmers may also register through MP Online kiosks, Common Service Centre kiosks, Lok Seva Kendras and private cyber cafés. The maximum charge for registration through paid facilities has been fixed at ₹50 per registration.

Registration centres will be required to verify and maintain records of land documents, Aadhaar cards and other photo identity documents submitted by farmers.

Registration facilities for sharecroppers, bataidars, kotwars and forest-patta holders will be available only through registration centres operated by cooperative societies and cooperative marketing institutions. Revenue authorities will conduct verification of all farmers belonging to these categories.

Aadhaar-Linked Bank Account Preferred for Payments

Payments for procured produce will primarily be made into the farmer’s Aadhaar-linked bank account.

If payment cannot be processed through the Aadhaar-linked account for any reason, the bank account provided during registration may be used.

Farmers will need to provide their bank account number and IFSC code during registration.

Inactive accounts, joint accounts and accounts associated with Fino, Airtel and Paytm will not be accepted for registration under the stated arrangements.

Farmers have been advised to keep their Aadhaar, bank account and mobile number properly linked and updated.

Authorities have also been instructed to keep Aadhaar registration centres operational at district and tehsil levels so farmers can update their mobile numbers and biometric details when required.

The Aadhaar facilitation centres operated through post offices may also be used for this purpose.

Aadhaar Verification Mandatory

Aadhaar verification will be mandatory both for farmer registration and for the sale of the crop.

Verification can be completed through an OTP sent to the mobile number linked with Aadhaar or through a biometric device.

Registration will normally be completed only when the farmer’s name recorded in the land records matches the name on the Aadhaar card. In case of discrepancies, verification will have to be carried out through the tehsil office before the registration is accepted.

Farmers whose mobile numbers were available during the previous Kharif registration process will also be informed through SMS.

Officials have been directed to publicise the registration schedule through village announcements, gram panchayat notice boards, committees and market-level banners to ensure that farmers complete the process within the prescribed deadline.
