Practical Support and Health Education for Women
During the seminar, Lion Vatsala Sharma distributed 20 umbrellas among women and the organisation’s staff members. Nutritional supplies were also provided to women as part of the initiative to encourage better health and well-being.
Informational pamphlets on cervical cancer were distributed to improve awareness about the disease, its prevention and the importance of timely medical consultation.
The initiative combined practical assistance with health education, highlighting the need to make reliable healthcare information and essential support more accessible to vulnerable communities.
Blood Sugar Screening Highlights the Importance of Early Care
As part of the programme, blood sugar tests were conducted for women and staff members of the organisation. Three individuals were found to have elevated blood sugar levels.
They were encouraged to undergo further medical examinations and seek professional medical advice to assess their health conditions and determine the appropriate next steps.
The screening activity underlined the importance of routine health check-ups, early identification of potential health concerns and timely medical intervention.
Message of Dignity, Compassion and Equal Opportunity
At the conclusion of the seminar, fruit-based khichdi and samosas were distributed among the attendees.
The programme conveyed an important social message: people living with HIV deserve more than sympathy. They must also receive dignity, acceptance, practical support and equal opportunities to participate fully in society.
Such community-based initiatives can help strengthen health awareness, reduce stigma and encourage a more inclusive environment for people affected by HIV.
Organisation Expresses Gratitude
Manish Sharma, president of the Ujjain HIV/AIDS Network People’s Society, expressed gratitude to the chief guest and all those who contributed to the successful organisation of the programme.
The entire staff of the Vihaan office was present during the event, contributing to the awareness and support initiative.
