The Chief Minister was addressing representatives of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh during a meeting at Samatva Bhavan, located at the Chief Minister’s residence, on Tuesday. He said that the state is working to familiarise farmers with modern agricultural techniques, advanced equipment and the use of new farming machinery.

Several initiatives have been undertaken during the ongoing Kisan Kalyan Year to strengthen agriculture. The Balram Krishi Mahotsav has also contributed to creating greater awareness and supporting the development of the agricultural sector.

Dr. Yadav expressed confidence that the Chief Minister’s Registry Scheme would benefit a large number of farmers across the state.

Farmer ID System Improving Monitoring of Fertiliser Stocks

The Chief Minister explained that the Farmer ID system is helping authorities obtain more accurate information about the availability and stock of fertilisers, including urea. Madhya Pradesh is making effective use of this system.

He also mentioned the initiative to restrict borewell drilling in districts receiving inadequate rainfall. The state government is continuously expanding irrigation facilities and promoting agriculture-based industries to create additional employment opportunities and strengthen farmers’ incomes.

He assured that these efforts would continue in the coming years.

Madhya Pradesh Aims to Set an Example in Stubble Management

Dr. Yadav directed officials to develop Madhya Pradesh as a role model in stubble management and control. He also referred to the encouraging results achieved through the use of the Boma Capturing method to prevent crop damage caused by different animals.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister shared information about participants being rewarded in various competitions. Prizes included tractors, Bullet motorcycles and scooters.

Incentives to Support Natural Farming and Cattle Rearing

The Chief Minister sought the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh’s cooperation in accelerating the formation of cooperative societies across Madhya Pradesh.

He stated that the government would extend grant benefits to livestock owners operating gaushalas and contributing to the promotion of organic and natural farming. According to Dr. Yadav, cattle can support natural farming in several ways. Financial assistance will therefore be provided to farmers’ cooperative societies to encourage cattle rearing.

The Chief Minister also discussed arrangements for procuring crops such as wheat, gram and millet, along with measures taken to ensure adequate electricity supply to farmers. Senior officials from the concerned departments attended the meeting.

Food Safety Teams Inspect Sweet Shops and Mawa Outlets Ahead of Festive Season

Inspections conducted in Sihora and Patan; samples of milk cake, khoya, barfi and other sweets collected for laboratory testing

Jabalpur, November 3, 2026

With the festive season bringing increased demand for sweets and dairy-based products, the Jabalpur district administration has intensified inspections to ensure food quality and consumer safety.

Acting on the directions of Collector Arun Kumar Vishwakarma, a joint team of revenue and food safety officials inspected several sweet shops and mawa outlets in Sihora and Patan on Tuesday.

During the inspection in Sihora, samples of milk cake were collected from Vijay Sweets, while saloni and barfi samples were taken from Shivam Sweets. Mawa samples were also collected from Bikaner Sweets.

In Patan, officials collected two khoya samples from Badu Khova. Four samples comprising sweets and mawa were taken from Bikaner Sweets. Two sweet samples each were collected from Nema Sweets and Krishna Sweets.

Samples to Be Examined at Bhopal Food Testing Laboratory

All collected samples are being sent to the State Food Testing Laboratory in Bhopal for examination. If laboratory reports establish that any sample fails to meet the prescribed food safety standards, legal proceedings will be initiated against the concerned establishment under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and applicable regulations.

The administration’s objective is to ensure that consumers have access to safe, hygienic and quality food products during the festive period. The inspection drive is also intended to strengthen compliance with food safety regulations among sweet manufacturers and sellers.
