New Delhi: (SDNA) Amid the growing demand for electric cars, BYD has launched its compact electric crossover, the 2027 Yuan UP Feichi Edition, in the Chinese market. In international markets, it is known as the BYD Atto 2. The new model comes with a claimed range of up to 501 km under the CLTC cycle, an updated interior, and several modern features. Its starting price is reported to be 74,800 yuan, which is approximately ₹9.35 lakh in Indian currency.
New Electric SUV Available in Five Variants
The BYD Atto 2 has been introduced in five variants. The base 301 KM Leading variant is priced at around 74,800 yuan, equivalent to approximately ₹9.35 lakh. After the reported trade-in offer, its price is said to come down to around ₹8.72 lakh.
Meanwhile, the estimated price of the 401 KM Leading variant is around ₹10.22 lakh, while the 401 KM Vitality variant is priced at approximately ₹11.23 lakh. Among the long-range variants, the 501 KM Beyond is priced at around ₹11.85 lakh, while the top-end 501 KM Excellence variant costs approximately ₹13.09 lakh. After the reported trade-in offer, the top model is said to be available for around ₹12.45 lakh.
Range of Up to 501 KM
The new Atto 2 is offered with different battery pack options. The 32 kWh battery provides a claimed range of around 301 km, while the 45.12 kWh battery offers around 401 km of range.
The largest 51.13 kWh battery is claimed to deliver up to 501 km of CLTC range. BYD has used its Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Blade Battery technology in the vehicle.
30% to 80% Charging in Around 30 Minutes
The new Atto 2 has also been upgraded in terms of charging technology. With DC fast charging, its battery can reportedly be charged from 30% to 80% in around 30 minutes.
New Cabin and Modern Features
The interior of the new BYD Atto 2 appears more modern than before. It features a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen along with a DiLink 100 cockpit.
Other features include a 50-watt air-cooled wireless phone charger, a panoramic glass electric sunroof, and front-seat ventilation and heating. The 60:40 split-folding rear seats can be folded to increase the boot space to up to 1,320 litres.
New Colour Options Added
The new electric crossover measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height. It has a 2,620 mm wheelbase. New colour options, including Energetic Yellow and Oxygen Blue, have also been added for customers.
94 HP Motor Delivers Power
All variants of the BYD Atto 2 Feichi Edition are equipped with a single front-mounted permanent-magnet motor. The motor produces approximately 94 HP of power and 180 Nm of torque.
22,958 Units Sold in August
According to reports, domestic sales of the Yuan UP in China stood at 22,958 units in August 2026. Sales improved compared with July. Based on its price, range, and features, the electric crossover competes in the Chinese market with compact electric cars such as the Geely EX2.
