Moscow, September 23 (SDNA): Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud held a telephone conversation to discuss developments surrounding the crisis in the Persian Gulf, the Kremlin said.
According to a statement issued by the Kremlin, the two leaders reviewed the current regional situation along with key areas of bilateral cooperation. The discussion also covered political, trade and economic, as well as humanitarian ties between Russia and Saudi Arabia.
The Kremlin said both sides expressed satisfaction with the existing level of cooperation across these areas and reaffirmed their interest in maintaining regular contact.
Regional developments, particularly the situation in and around the Persian Gulf, also figured in the conversation, according to the Russian presidential office.
The talks come amid heightened international attention on developments in the Gulf region, with Moscow and Riyadh maintaining diplomatic engagement on regional and bilateral issues.
