Ujjain Government Girls’ College Makes a Mark in District Sports Championships

Badminton and Table Tennis Teams Clinch Titles; Chess Squad Finishes Runner-Up

Ujjain (SDNA): A strong display of sporting talent by students of the Government Girls’ Postgraduate College, Ujjain, saw the institution secure top honours in two disciplines and a runner-up finish in another at the district-level competitions organised by the Higher Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

The college’s teams emerged champions in Badminton and Table Tennis, while the Chess team put up a commendable performance to finish second in the district competition.

Badminton Squad Leads from the Front

The college’s Badminton team featured Megha Nagwan, Dipanshi Upadhyay, Ichhapurti Gurjar and Apeksha Patidar. Their coordinated performance and competitive approach helped the team secure the championship title.

Table Tennis Team Adds Another Championship

The success continued in Table Tennis, where Vanshika Motiyani, Dipanshi Upadhyay, Divya Gupta and Lakshmi Sarang represented the college. The players delivered a consistent performance throughout the competition, helping the institution finish at the top.

Chess Players Secure Runner-Up Position

In Chess, Sonal Kumari, Bulbul Mali, Diksha Rajput and Arpita Tiwari represented the college. Demonstrating strategic thinking and composure, the team secured the runner-up position.

Principal Congratulates Successful Players

Following the achievement, college principal Dr. Prashant Puranik felicitated the winning and runner-up players. He congratulated the students and encouraged them to continue working with dedication and confidence while representing the institution in future competitions.

The achievement was recorded under the guidance of the college’s Sports Officer, Dr. Sangeeta Karlekar. Faculty members also appreciated the players for their efforts and congratulated them on bringing recognition to the institution.
