‘Seva Sankalp Yatra’ Reaches Indore on Its Journey from Varanasi to Vadnagar

Bike riders interact with villagers, participate in cleanliness drive and visit health centre; community programmes held at Shipra, Dakachya and Lasudia Parmar

Indore, September 30, 2026. The ‘Seva Sankalp Yatra’, a public outreach motorcycle journey travelling from Varanasi to Vadnagar in Gujarat, reached the Shipra riverbank in Indore district on Wednesday as part of a campaign marking what organisers described as 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance journey.

The riders were welcomed at the Shipra ghat in the Sanwer Assembly constituency in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, Indore MP Shankar Lalwani and Shravan Chawda. Local representatives, including Mandal president Ravi Vajpayee and sarpanch Trishita Vajpayee, along with a large number of villagers, attended the programme.

The participating riders shared their experiences of the journey and interacted with residents at various stops.

Cleanliness drive held at Shipra Ghat

A cleanliness campaign was conducted at the Shipra ghat in the presence of Minister Silawat and MP Lalwani.

The riders and local residents participated in the cleanliness activities and offered prayers at the nearby temples.

During a community interaction held at the Khedapati Hanuman Temple complex, the minister and MP spoke about the objectives of the motorcycle journey and encouraged participants to give priority to community service.

Health centre visit and support for kabaddi players

From Shipra, the riders travelled to the Primary Health Centre at Dakachya, where they were welcomed with tulsi plants.

The group inspected the health centre and interacted with the medical officer to learn about the healthcare services being provided to local residents.

At the International Kabaddi Stadium in Dakachya, Minister Silawat, MP Lalwani and the riders distributed tracksuits to kabaddi players.

‘Journey is carrying water from rivers along the route’

Shashank Sharma, a leading participant in the Seva Sankalp Yatra, shared his experience of the journey.

He said the motorcycle expedition is travelling through different states before reaching Vadnagar in Gujarat. According to him, the campaign is also being used to create awareness about government schemes, including the Ayushman Bharat health programme and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Sharma said the journey began from Varanasi with water from the Ganga, which is planned to be carried to Vadnagar for offering at a Shiva temple.

He added that water from rivers encountered in districts along the route is also being collected and carried in a ceremonial vessel to Vadnagar.

Women from self-help groups share experiences

The yatra later reached Lasudia Parmar, where villagers welcomed the riders with flower showers.

A programme was organised at the Lasudia Parmar Gram Panchayat building. Minister Silawat said the country was progressing under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and referred to the goal of a developed India by 2047.

He described the young participants in the journey as energetic and committed to public service.

MP Shankar Lalwani said the outreach campaign was intended to connect with people and highlight opportunities available through government programmes.

Women associated with self-help groups also shared their experiences during the programme.

Jyoti Patel, a member of a self-help group, said government welfare initiatives for women had helped improve the economic condition of many beneficiaries. She said her association with the group had helped increase her income through a bangle business in the Lasudia Parmar area.

Another participant, Khushi Patel, said self-help groups were helping women move towards greater economic independence and that access to loans for self-employment had become easier.

Women’s groups and Anganwadi workers honoured

Women associated with self-help groups and Anganwadi workers were felicitated during the Lasudia Parmar programme.

Minister Silawat and Shravan Singh Chawda presented bags to the participating motorcycle riders. The riders subsequently interacted with villagers and took part in a plantation activity.

Yatra passes through several villages before reaching Hatod

The Seva Sankalp Yatra continued through Dhankhedi, Jetpura, Dharampuri, Ringnodia, Baroli Toll, Alwasa and Paliya before reaching Hatod.

Residents at several locations along the route welcomed the riders.

Participants including Gajendra Singh, Vikas Gupta and Ajay Yadav spoke about their experiences during the journey and appreciated the hospitality extended to them in Madhya Pradesh.

At Hatod, the riders planted saplings of different species and felicitated sanitation workers.

Sarpanch Yashwant Dabi, Vishwajeet Singh and a large number of villagers attended the programme.

The Seva Sankalp Yatra will have its night halt at Hatod before continuing its onward journey towards Vadnagar.
