₹909.39 crore turnover target set for 2026-27

The Union has set an ambitious financial target for the current fiscal year.

According to the annual plan for 2026-27, the organisation has projected a turnover of ₹909.39 crore.

The Union also plans to establish 400 new milk cooperative societies and revive 242 inactive milk societies during the year.

Alongside this expansion, the milk procurement target has been raised to 3.25 lakh kg per day, with the network expected to comprise 2,305 milk cooperative societies.

The meeting was attended by Milk Union Chief Executive Officer Vishal Kumar Mishra, along with members and office-bearers of the management committees.

Farmers seek higher milk prices

A key issue raised during the Annual General Meeting was the demand from milk-producing farmers and cooperative societies for an increase in milk procurement prices.

Members also raised concerns regarding the timing of information and the opportunity to submit objections and suggestions before the meeting. Some participants said that information had reached them only a day or two before the meeting and that the earlier system of regional meetings was no longer functioning.

Another issue raised by members concerned the pending bonus despite the relevant proposal having been approved.

Expert farmers’ committee proposed

Responding to the concerns raised by milk producer societies, Divisional Commissioner Lakshakar said a committee comprising farmers and representatives with practical knowledge of the dairy sector would be constituted.

The proposed committee would examine issues relating to the federation, milk union operations, markets and marketing, including the demand for better milk prices and other concerns raised by producer societies.

The move is intended to bring greater representation of experienced milk producers into discussions concerning the cooperative dairy system.

Bonus payment expected within two months

On the issue of the pending bonus, Milk Union CEO Vishal Kumar Mishra said that the bonus amount would be transferred to the bank accounts of milk producer societies and farmers within the next two months.

The Annual General Meeting concluded with discussions on strengthening the cooperative network, increasing milk procurement, expanding the number of producer societies and addressing issues raised by milk-producing farmers.

The proposed expansion targets indicate a focus on increasing the reach of the cooperative dairy system while simultaneously improving milk procurement and farmer participation across the nine districts covered by the Indore Cooperative Milk Union.
