
Religious programme to feature Kalash Yatra, daily Katha, Tarpan and worship during Pitru Paksha
Ujjain. A seven-day Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapurana Katha dedicated to the remembrance and peace of ancestors will be organised in Ujjain during Pitru Paksha, with the programme scheduled to begin on October 4, 2026.
The religious event is being organised by the Shri Chandramoleshwar Seva Samiti, Ujjain, which has invited devotees and religious-minded families to participate in the programme.
According to the organisers, the initiative seeks to connect devotees with the spiritual teachings of the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapurana while highlighting the traditional significance of remembering and paying homage to ancestors during Pitru Paksha.

Kalash Yatra to mark the opening
The programme will be held from October 4 to October 10, 2026, at Balaji Garden behind Maa Harsiddhi Mata Temple in Ujjain.
The opening day will begin with a Kalash Yatra from Ramghat on the banks of the Shipra River. The procession will commence at 9 am on Sunday, October 4, and continue until 11 am.
The Shrimad Bhagwat Katha will be conducted daily from 1 pm to 5 pm.
The Katha will be narrated by Saraswati Acharya Manish Dubey of Badwah-Omkareshwar, described by the organisers as a renowned speaker and a disciple who has received the blessings of Sadgurudev Dr. Shyam Sundar Parashar of Vrindavan Dham.
Daily Tarpan and worship for ancestors
A special feature of the event will be arrangements for daily Tarpan and worship dedicated to ancestors.
The organisers said the facility is intended to provide devotees with an opportunity to express their श्रद्धा (reverence) and remembrance towards their departed ancestors during the auspicious period of Pitru Paksha.
The committee said the combination of Bhagwat Katha and traditional rituals will provide devotees with an opportunity to participate in both the spiritual discourse and ancestral remembrance ceremonies.
Committee appeals for family participation
Committee president Pt. Gopal Vyas appealed to devotees to attend the seven-day religious programme with their families and participate in the Katha to honour and remember their ancestors.
Committee secretary Pt. Gaurav Sharma said the daily Tarpan and worship arrangements would offer devotees a dedicated opportunity to observe the traditions associated with Pitru Paksha. He also appealed to the public to participate in the programme and extend necessary cooperation to the organising committee.
The Shri Chandramoleshwar Seva Samiti, Ujjain, has invited devotees, families, women and religious-minded citizens to attend the programme and make the seven-day spiritual gathering a collective occasion of devotion and remembrance.
