The highest absolute increase has been announced for safflower at ₹675 per quintal, followed by rapeseed and mustard at ₹413 and lentil at ₹390 per quintal. The MSP for gram has been increased by ₹83, barley by ₹136 and wheat by ₹25 per quintal.

Welcoming the Union Cabinet’s decision, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and congratulated farmers. He said the revised MSP structure would provide greater price support for major Rabi crops and strengthen the agricultural economy.

The Union government’s announcement states that the revised MSPs are intended to provide remunerative prices to growers, with the approved rates ranging from 50% to 106% above the all-India weighted average cost of production, depending on the crop.

The decision is expected to be relevant for farmers preparing for the upcoming Rabi marketing season, particularly those cultivating wheat, pulses and oilseed crops.
