
Congress Seva Dal organises Gandhi Jayanti quiz competition; students honoured with prizes and senior personalities felicitated
UJJAIN, October 2, 2026: The Ujjain City and Rural Congress Seva Dal organised a quiz competition to mark the 157th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, with speakers highlighting the continuing relevance of his philosophy of truth and non-violence.
The programme was organised at Shri Guru Sandipani Group of Institutes in Gram Surasa on the Agar Road in Ujjain, following directions from All India Congress Seva Dal president Srinivas B.V. and Madhya Pradesh Congress Seva Dal president Avnish Bhargava.
Addressing the gathering, Madhya Pradesh Congress Seva Dal chief organiser Avnish Bhargava said Gandhi’s ideology could not be erased and would continue to remain relevant across generations.

He said the principles associated with Gandhi’s life and public work continue to encourage people towards truth, non-violence and social responsibility.
Students Participate in Gandhi Jayanti Quiz
The quiz competition was followed by a prize distribution ceremony in which participating students were recognised for their performance.
The first, second and third prize winners were honoured, while 51 consolation prizes were also presented to participants.
The programme began with the singing of Vande Mataram, setting the tone for the Gandhi Jayanti observance.
Senior Academics and Social Figures Felicitated
Several senior citizens, educationists and distinguished personalities were also felicitated during the programme.
Those honoured included educationist Dr. Chandresh Arekar, Group Director Ashutosh Meena, Professor Hitesh Pandey, Professor Sandeep Joshi, Dr. Geeta Tomar and Dr. Kalpana Mimarot, among others.
The organisers said the initiative was intended to connect younger generations with the life, values and ideas associated with Mahatma Gandhi through an educational and participatory programme.
Political and Social Representatives Attend
The prize distribution programme was attended by Madhya Pradesh Congress Seva Dal in-charge Pratap Narayan Mishra, who was the chief guest, while Seva Dal state president Avnish Bhargava presided over the event.
Special guests included Shri Guru Sandipani Group of Institutes Chairman Anant Narayan Meena, District Rural Congress Committee president Mahesh Parmar, City Congress Committee president Mukesh Bhati, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Chetan Yadav, state Seva Dal vice-president Arun Rochwani, and District Rural Congress Seva Dal president Dr. Chainsingh Chaudhary.
Also present were Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan national coordinator Renuka Gandhi, City Congress Seva Dal president Kuldeep Singh Jat, City Women Congress Seva Dal president Seema Patel, Young Brigade Seva Dal president Dr. Vijay Bodana, Young Brigade Seva Dal city president Mayank Singh Rajput, Women Seva Dal representative Roshni Namdev and state Seva Dal secretary Anil Sharma.

Other participants included Surendra Yadav, Shyamu Chauhan, Leela Bai Chauhan, Rajendra Chandel, Nilesh Sharma, Rais Mansuri, Deepak Yadav, Sher Khan, Hukum Singh Anjana, Sohail Khan, Kuldeep Surawat, Mukul Ghureya and Mahendra Chaudhary.
