Gurugram recorded the highest number with 39,985 applications, followed by Faridabad with 33,463 and Hisar with 22,001.

Other districts also reported substantial numbers, including Charkhi Dadri with 7,095 applications, Panchkula with 8,786 and Nuh with 9,087.

Under Form 7, which is used for seeking deletion of names from the electoral roll, Haryana received 40,162 applications. Panipat accounted for the highest number at 3,600, followed by Hisar with 2,790 and Sirsa with 2,539.

More Than 2.14 Lakh Applications for Corrections

The revision exercise has also attracted a large number of requests for changes in voter information.

A total of 2,14,693 Form 8 applications have been received for correction of voter details, changes of address and other modifications, including requests related to electoral identity cards.

Among the districts reporting significant numbers were Kurukshetra with 14,347 applications, Gurugram with 13,767 and Jind with 13,513.

44.91 Lakh Notices Issued During SIR

As part of the SIR process, 44,91,691 notices were issued in cases where mapping could not be completed or discrepancies were identified during the exercise.

Of these, hearings in 40,56,716 cases have already been completed, while 4,34,975 cases remain pending for further action.

The highest number of pending cases has been reported from Faridabad, Karnal and Hisar, according to the information provided during the ongoing review of the revision process.

Officials Asked to Complete Hearings Within Deadline

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Raj Kumar Lohan has directed Electoral Registration Officers to ensure that all pending cases are heard and disposed of within the prescribed timeline.

Officials have also been instructed to follow the Election Commission of India’s guidelines while examining documents and taking decisions on individual cases.

The Election Commission has stated that SIR is intended to be carried out with participation from electors, political parties and election machinery.

Notice Does Not Automatically Mean Deletion

Officials have also clarified an important aspect of the process: receiving an SIR notice does not by itself mean that a voter’s name will be removed from the electoral roll.

Voters who receive notices can submit the required documents through the Booth Level Officer (BLO) and present their case during the prescribed hearing process.

During a video conference with district election officers on October 1, officials further directed that cases involving an ineligible voter or rejection of a Form 6 application should be subjected to appropriate scrutiny.

The instructions emphasised that no eligible voter should be removed from the electoral roll merely because of an avoidable or procedural reason.

Final Roll Expected on November 6

With the claims and objections process continuing until October 28, election officials now face the task of completing pending hearings and verification within the stipulated schedule.

Following disposal of the cases and completion of the required procedures, Haryana’s final electoral roll is scheduled to be released on November 6, 2026.
