Ujjain, (SDNA). The 136th birth anniversary of renowned playwright and Sangeet Surya Keshavrao Bhosale was celebrated with great enthusiasm along with the girls of the Seva Bharati Girls’ Hostel.
On the occasion, the hostel girls presented a group song, dance performances, a play, a yoga demonstration, Danda presentation and recitation of the 12th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. The girls also participated in various competitions and showcased their artistic talents.
Renowned playwright Shri Durgesh Bali, who attended the programme as the Chief Guest, said in his address that theatre is an art form that reaches the hearts of audiences through both visual and auditory mediums. Sangeet Surya Keshavrao Bhosale devoted his entire life to musical theatre and was among the pioneers who introduced the tradition of musical theatre to the people.
He said that life itself is like a play in which people perform different roles. He encouraged students to participate in theatre and related artistic activities to express and develop their creativity.
Shri Mansingh Sharad said that the students should take an interest in music, theatre, literature and sports to enrich their lives. He said that Sangeet Surya Keshavrao Bhosale presented an inspiring ideal through his short but remarkable life.
Dr. Netra Ravanakar, President of the Sangeet Surya Keshavrao Bhosale Social and Cultural Council, Madhya Pradesh, said that in today’s technology-driven era, music, literature and theatre teach people the art of living a stress-free life. She also explained how these art forms contribute to the development of a multidimensional personality.
The programme was successfully conducted by the girls of the hostel. Smt. Anjali Vaishampayan proposed the vote of thanks.
Ashok Ravanakar, Preeti Telang, Padma Kube, Tina Solanki and Vijeta Sharma were present on the occasion.
All the students who performed exceptionally well in the competitions were felicitated and awarded prizes.
