Nivraha Foundation and SDPE launch a monthly initiative offering free six-month training to 50 selected students

Indore: Young people aspiring to build careers in journalism and digital media now have an opportunity to gain formal training without the burden of course fees. Nivraha Foundation and SDPE have launched a new educational initiative under which aspiring students can appear for a free online IQ-based entrance examination and compete for admission to a six-month Journalism Certificate Programme at no cost.

Under the initiative, 50 students will be selected every month from across India. Those selected will be able to pursue the programme online, allowing students from different states and regions to access the course without having to relocate.

Beyond News Writing: Focus on Law and Practical Journalism

According to Nivraha Foundation founder Dr. Vinayaka Luniya, the nature of journalism has changed significantly with the rapid expansion of digital media. Modern journalists need more than writing skills; they also require an understanding of media law, legal awareness, news gathering, ethical journalism and practical reporting.

Keeping these requirements in mind, the proposed programme aims to combine fundamental journalism education with legal and practical knowledge relevant to the media profession.

Learn From Home Through Digital Resources

Students enrolled in the programme will receive online study material and other digital learning resources, enabling them to continue their studies from home.

The initiative is designed to make the opportunity accessible beyond geographical boundaries. Students from any part of India can participate in the online IQ examination and enter the selection process. Those who qualify will be offered admission to the six-month certificate programme without tuition fees.

Preparing Young People for the Digital Media Era

Dr. Luniya said the rapid growth of digital platforms has created new possibilities for employment, independent journalism and media entrepreneurship. However, young professionals must also understand information accuracy, journalistic responsibility, media-related laws and the functioning of digital news platforms.

The initiative, he said, is aimed at ensuring that financial limitations do not prevent capable and motivated students from gaining foundational knowledge and developing their skills in journalism.

50 Students to Be Selected Every Month

The programme will provide 50 selected students every month with the opportunity to undertake six months of free journalism certificate training.
