Air Travel Gets More Expensive: IndiGo Hikes Several Service Charges; Infant Tickets to Extra Baggage Cost More
New Delhi. (SDNA) Inflation, which has affected everything from food and beverages to petrol and diesel, is now being felt in air travel as well. IndiGo has increased the charges for several additional services related to domestic flights. These include infant tickets, excess baggage, priority check-in and boarding, and fees for children travelling alone. Infant Ticket Charges Increased The airline has increased the infant fee for children aged between three days and two years. For online bookings, the charge has been increased from ₹2,000 to ₹2,250. For bookings made at the airport counter, the fee has gone up from ₹2,500 to ₹3,000. Infants are not provided with a separate seat on the aircraft and travel on their parent or guardian's lap.
